Hello my gorgeous Fashionistas!!!
If you follow me on Instagram, you all know, that I just returned from a wonderful mid-winter vacation, in Cancun. With all this mid-west freezing weather, it was a blessing to get away, and enjoy some much needed sunshine.
This trip was planned last year, after much research by my darling husband. He already knows, that Mexico is one of my FAVORITE vacation spots. We’ve stayed at several different resorts in the Cancun area, Isla Mujeres, and were married at the Valentin Imperial Maya, (also a beautiful resort) and we’ve always returned home, happy and ready to go back.
So when he asked where I wanted to go, I gave him the same answer, Mexico! I love it there, and if you leave it up to me, I will return every year. This time however, he wanted to try a new location.
After much research and reading all reviews, we decided on the all inclusive package at the Live Aqua Cancun. Rated #4, in the top Cancun hotels. The pictures of the beach were spectacular, one of the very first things I look at. I really dislike, rocky beaches or ones that are full of seaweed. Being from Puerto Rico, I want the crystal clear, aqua blue ocean. Heaven…
The reviews were all positive, with of course a few not so great ones, but I’ve realized it’s impossible to please everyone, and if this ranked #4, it had to be great resort!!
I really don’t want to make this a long, boring vacation blog post, so I will sum it up for you, as best as I can, and go on to sharing some of the beautiful pictures.
The hotel, service and staff were fantastic. The staff was friendly, courteous, and very helpful. The room was spacious, very clean, and comfortable. The ocean front view was absolutely breath-taking. The ocean was crystal clear blue, the water looked spectacular. They have a total of 7 or 8 pools. You just decide which area you would like to be in. One of them being the “Party Pool,” this one had a swim up bar and loud music. We walked by it several times, and they were all having a great time. Both the pool area and beach were lovely and beautiful! Only downside, if you want to ensure you find a beach chair and umbrella for shade, you MUST get up early, grab your beach towel and a magazine, and lay it on the chair of your choice. Otherwise, you will have a difficult time finding an umbrella and chair. My husband worked out every morning, so this was not a problem, he would just go, and grab ours before his early workout.
The hotel is located right across the street from a mall. So you can easily walk there. They have some great shops and restaurants. Imagine my surprise when I found Zara there! Oh YEAH!! You can also catch the bus right down the street, and visit other areas in downtown Cancun.
The hotel has seven restaurants, we tried four of them. The food was very good. My favorite was the Seafood Ceviche. We did have 24 hour room service, which included meals at any time, and we took full advantage of it. They did have an item on there, which was another favorite, and I did enjoy it several times. It was a main dish, with Steak and potatoes! YUM!
All the waiters in the pool and beach area, were very friendly and very attentive, in making sure you always had a drink in hand. The drinks were NOT strong at all, so if you enjoy strong drinks, make sure you tell them to double up! Also make sure you bring american dollars, to tip them. They will be your best friend, during your entire stay!
The evenings were relaxed, with several shows planned throughout the week, but no partying, which is exactly what we wanted. Of course you can always take the bus to the party areas like Coco Bongo or Señor Frogs if you like.
Last but not least, WIFI service was GREAT!! We had great signal by the beach, by the pool, lobby, just about any area around the hotel! Now that’s a plus for us Facebook and Instagram addicts!
To sum it up, we had a wonderful vacation! It was absolutely beautiful, and we would DEFINITELY return to the Live Aqua Cancun, again, without hesitation!
Enjoy!
